Private Offer is a service that lets vehicle owners register their license plate so they can be notified if someone wants to make a purchase offer on their car. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your data. We've written it to be read, not just stored.
When you register your plate, we collect:
We do not collect your name, email address, home address, or any financial information during registration. We do not require account creation.
We use your information for one purpose: to notify you when someone has made an offer on your registered vehicle.
Specifically:
We do not use your information for advertising, marketing communications, or any purpose unrelated to offer notification.
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for their own purposes. Your phone number is never disclosed to a potential buyer. All communication between buyers and sellers is mediated through the Private Offer platform.
We may share information with service providers who help us operate the platform — for example, SMS delivery providers — but only to the extent necessary to provide the service, and under confidentiality obligations.
We may disclose information if required by law or to protect the safety of our users or the public.
Your registration remains active until you request removal. We retain your information for as long as your plate is registered with the service.
You can request deletion of your registration at any time by contacting us at the address below. We will remove your record within 7 business days.
If you are a California resident, you have the right to know what personal information we have collected about you, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the sale of your personal information.
We do not sell personal information. To exercise your right to know or right to deletion, contact us at the address below. We will respond within 45 days as required by law.
We store your data in Supabase, a SOC 2 Type II certified infrastructure provider. Your phone number is stored in a private database with access restricted to platform operations only. We use row-level security to ensure that no registration data is readable through our client-side application.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your information has been compromised, please contact us immediately.
If we make material changes to this policy, we will update the effective date at the top of this page. For significant changes affecting how we use your phone number, we will notify registered users by SMS before the change takes effect.
